Red Phone

Dear Red Phone,

What can be done about the complete disregard that the head honchos at CVS have for the way their new store on Dunne looks? The store itself looks fine. I’m talking about their landscaping. They went to the expense of planting what could be beautiful shrubs and trees but the place is so weed-infested now that they are choking out what’s been planted. Is it just me or does anyone else consider this a total eyesore? If you look across the street to the neighboring corners you will see nice landscaping that is taken care of. I actually switched my prescriptions to Walgreens because I was so disgusted with the way CVS looks. Yes, it bugs me that much. How about pulling some weeds CVS???

Dear caller,

We asked Morgan Hill Code Enforcement Officer John Amos about the vegetation outside the new CVS store, and he had this to say:

“The City noticed the problem with the weeds and made contact with CVS at the end of April.  The weeds were removed approximately 10 days ago and CVS has now contracted with a landscape company for regular maintenance.”

Indeed, Red Phone can confirm that as of Monday, the landscaping around the store looked well-manicured and quite attractive. Let’s hope they keep it that way.
